Nuffield Health Tees Hospital Supports Stockton Cricket Club In New Deal

Issue 69

A North East hospital continues to support sport in the community after agreeing a new sponsorship deal with Stockton Cricket Club (CC).

Nuffield Health Tees Hospital in Stockton is furthering its commitment to helping grassroots sport in the region by agreeing a sponsorship deal to support its local club.

The hospital will have its branding emblazoned on the kit of Stockton CC and on display around their grounds.

The deal is the hospital’s latest show of support for grassroots sport in the community and follows a new agreement with Norton Cricket Club to boost its junior’s setup now that coronavirus restrictions have eased.

Stockton CC competes in the North Yorkshire South Durham (NYSD) League. Its first team is in division one following the restart of club cricket after the COVID-19 enforced hiatus.

The club, based at the Grangefield ground in Stockton, runs three senior teams in the NYSD, with junior teams from under-11 through to under-19 status.

Nuffield Health Tees Hospital celebrates its 40th Anniversary this year and with more deals in the pipeline, Nuffield is committed to partnering with local sports clubs to deliver on its mission to have a positive impact on the community it serves.

Ross Huntley, sales and services manager at Nuffield Health Tees Hospital, said: “We’re really pleased to be sponsoring Stockton Cricket Club in 2021 and beyond. Grassroots clubs and sports activities are the mainstays of their local communities and benefit people of all ages.

“We share this ethos at Nuffield Health Tees Hospital as we continue our work to support local sporting institutions that are helping to make people in our region fitter, healthier, happier and stronger.”

Established in 1816, Stockton CC has a rich history in the local area. After claiming the North East Premier League (NEPL) title in 2013, the club returned to the NYSD in 2019 and won the second division title, earning promotion to the first division.

Ray Waite, immediate past chairman of Stockton CC, welcomed the deal, he said: “We would like to say a big thank you to Nuffield Tees Hospital for its sponsorship. It has been an extremely difficult time for everyone with COVID-19 hitting the economy and communities, but our sponsors and everyone connected with the club is still helping us to move forward into the future.”
