This is a wonderful achievement that has been made possible through the enthusiasm, commitment and hard work of our Eco Committee, under the stewardship of Mrs Scott. Over the past year, pupils have led the way in helping our school become more environmentally aware, inspiring positive changes across the whole community. From encouraging everyone to switch off lights and reduce waste, to championing improvements such as removing single-use jam/ketchup portions in favour of a shared bowls on tables, our pupils have shown that even small actions can create a big impact. The Eco-Schools judges were particularly impressed by the passion shown by our children, commenting: “When young people feel excited and passionate about sustainability, it means the message isn’t just being taught – it’s being embraced.” They praised the way pupils have “taken charge, inspiring actions amongst themselves as well as reminding staff and families” about making more sustainable choices.…
