EN:Able Futures, has announced the launch of its Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Service in the North East and has made two new appointments.
Established in 2013, EN:Able Futures, which specialises in the construction and built environment sector, became part of Efficiency North Holdings in 2018.
Flexi-Job Apprenticeships are designed to create benefits for employers in industries such as construction, where it is often difficult for companies to employ apprentices for the full duration due to the nature of construction new build, repair and maintenance projects.
EN:Able Futures is one of 16 new Flexi-Job Apprenticeship agencies registered with the government.
To help bolster its team, William Oliver has been appointed as senior apprenticeship manager and Sophie Richardson as assistant apprenticeship manager.
Operating as a not-for-profit organisation, the Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Service has had huge success across Yorkshire and the Humber and EN:Able Futures is looking to replicate this across the North East.
It is the only organisation in the North East providing a Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Service in construction, and will be recruiting apprentices for employers operating from the Tees Valley to the Scottish Border.
Director of operations, Julie Deeley, said: “Our Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Service has had huge success across Yorkshire and the Humber and we are immensely proud that, over the last nine years, we have employed over 430 apprentices hosted by 113 organisations, supported young people to achieve their career aspirations, won many awards and built strong employer and client partnerships. We want to replicate this across the North East.
“We have great expertise working within the built environment sector, offering a complete solution that matches apprentices with industry employers, whilst our team of professional apprenticeship managers give each young person the mentorship and pastoral support they need to succeed.
“We have wanted to expand into the North East for a long time, to create apprenticeships, grow our services and support more employers and apprentices to become successful.
“Both William and Sophie are fantastic additions to the EN:Able Futures team and are testament to the apprenticeship route. Having started their careers as apprentices they can offer first-hand experience and advice.”
William Oliver, senior apprenticeship manager at EN:Able Futures, said: “Having left school aged 16, I was not sure what career route I should pursue. I applied for an apprenticeship and have never looked back.
“Prior to joining EN:Able Futures, I worked primarily in an education setting in colleges, training providers, the National Apprenticeship Service and City & Guilds.
“My career experience has given me the skills, confidence and passion for apprenticeships. I am a positive result of the process and 22 years later I am still at it, now as a senior manager working for EN:Able Futures as its senior apprenticeship manager in the North East!
“Alongside Sophie, I am looking forward to sharing my experience of the apprenticeship route, to help support young people as they progress in their careers.”
