Now in its 91st year NE Youth have supported over 1.3 million young people, helping them to get involved in their communities, enjoy their lives and achieve their potential.
Times are tough for all charities right now but the team at NE Youth are working even harder to continue to change young lives.
ACT: NE Youth have an exciting new youthled identity
ACT – Action Creates Change Together. Developed with and alongside young people, ACT brings together all of NE Youth’s youthled activity under one shared identity. More than just a new name, ACT represents their commitment to ensuring young people’s voices are heard, valued and transformed into meaningful action. Through ACT, young people are helping to shape projects, influence decisions, challenge barriers and create positive change within their communities. It reflects a simple but powerful belief: when young people are given the opportunity to lead, real change happens. ACT is just getting started – and the team at NE Youth are excited to see where young people’s ideas will take them.
Corporate Charity Football Tournament16th July
Are you enjoying the World Cup? If football is your thing why not gather a team and sign up for the NE Youth’s Corporate Charity Football Tournament taking place on 16th July? The tournament, to be held at GOALS, will bring together teams from across the region for a day of football, networking and fundraising, all in support of young people. The event is part of NE Youth’s wider summer focus on supporting boys and young men. Using the power of football to spark conversations around confidence, wellbeing, identity and belonging, the charity is harnessing the game’s ability to bring people together both on and off the pitch. So whether you’re battling it out for the trophy or cheering from the sidelines, every team taking part will be helping NE Youth. Businesses interested in entering a team or exploring sponsorship opportunities are encouraged to get involved and be part of a fantastic day of football, fundraising and community spirit.
NEET
The recent report by Alan Milburn highlighted many issues including social mobility, opportunity and the growing gap between young people’s aspirations and the support available to help them achieve them. At NE Youth, their Peer Ambassadors have been exploring these issues directly with young people across the North East. Their research paints a clear picture: support needs to start earlier, be joined-up and reflect the realities of young people’s lives. What young people consistently say is that they want opportunities, purpose and a chance to contribute to their communities.
As policymakers consider the recommendations of the Milburn report, the voices of young people themselves must remain central to the conversation. Their experiences provide a powerful reminder that improving opportunity requires more than isolated interventions – it requires a coordinated approach that addresses the barriers young people face in every aspect of their lives.
We need your support – it could change a young person’s future. Sponsor an event, make a donation, or partner with NE Youth to help us provide vital programmes, safe spaces, and opportunities for the next generation.
