Falcon Fox Creates More Jobs In Sunderland

Issue 124

Falcon Fox Construction is continuing to deliver on its commitment to hire local people as a direct result of winning two major contracts on Wearside.

Recently, it was announced that David Reagan, from Seaham, has taken the role as site manager on Nile+Villiers, a key part of Sunderland City Council’s Sunniside Place Strategy – a ten-year plan to bring new life, activity and investment to the area.

Robyn Wright, from Grangetown, is site coordinator at Nile+Villiers and at the Vaux Housing phase II development, which Falcon Fox has also been appointed onto, in a principal contractor role. The project, is a flagship scheme at the heart of the city centre which will deliver 93 sustainable homes.

Most recently, Darren Talbot from Hetton-le-Hole has been appointed as site manager, joining Robyn on the Vaux Housing phase II development.

Situated on the site of the former Vaux brewery, rapidly becoming a vibrant business and residential neighbourhood, the scheme will offer panoramic views over the River Wear, as well as access to Riverside Park and shared spaces.

Falcon Fox director, Duncan Bowman, said: “We said we would give back to the local area when we commenced this project and that is what we are doing. By directly hiring both senior management and highly skilled tradespeople from Sunderland and the surrounding area, we are contributing to the local economy and helping to leave a lasting legacy.”

Darren Talbot, site manager, said: “Having worked in construction for 40 years, the Vaux Housing site holds significant sentimental value to many people in the local area.

“To be working on a project close to home and seeing the benefits that it will bring to the city and its people is a great feeling.”
