Housebuilder Banks Homes is ending a successful year by launching plans to invest in two new North East residential developments.
Banks has brought forward new proposals for a development at Redmarshall near Stockton, which would see around 75 family homes being built on a site to the south of the village and which would include a range of different house types and a 20 per cent affordable homes provision.
And it has followed this up with outline plans for a small-scale residential development at High Shincliffe, to the south east of Durham City, which would see up to 80 energy efficient family homes being built on a site on the south eastern edge of the community, close to the route of the Leamside Line.
The Whitwell Acres development at High Shincliffe would include a 35 per cent affordable homes allocation and a number of bungalows, while all the new homes there would be fitted with air source heat pumps and electric vehicle charging points to help minimise carbon emissions.
A series of community consultation events have been held about the two new developments, with Banks Homes now looking to submit planning applications early in the new year.
Part of the County Durham-headquartered Banks Group, Banks Homes is building a growing portfolio of high-quality residential sites across North East England and Yorkshire.
Live developments include Cathedral Meadows in West Rainton, The Cornfields in Yarm and The Pastures at Hambleton near Selby, with new homes and new plots being regularly released at all of them.
Banks Homes, which is set to bring forward a number of new projects in 2026, won national recognition for the quality of the community work carried out by its team around its Cathedral Meadows development in West Rainton after being shortlisted in the Best Community Initiative category of the 2025 UK Housebuilder Awards.
Russ Hall, managing director at Banks Homes, says: “Banks Homes was born from a desire to create sustainable homes that positively impact on health and happiness, and our mission is to bring together striking design, future-proof sustainability and desirable locations to create a new blueprint for contemporary living.
“Our new Redmarshall and High Shincliffe residential developments will live up to these ambitions, and will give more local people and families in each location a greater opportunity to stay in the area.
“As with all our developments, these new homes will offer style as standard and design specifications that we believe are the very best among our peers.
“Our exceptional team has achieved a huge amount this year and it’s been brilliant to see growing numbers of house buyers happily moving into their new Banks Homes.
“We’ve got a lot more to come next year and can’t wait to start building on the momentum we’ve created through 2025.”
