An award-winning Indian restaurant is to donate a huge weekly food parcel to staff at a Tyneside hospital as a thank you for their efforts during the Coronavirus outbreak.
Award-winning Zeera in South Shields will once a week put together a free banquet big enough for about 30 NHS staff at South Tyneside Hospital.
The restaurant will then deliver the bumper banquet to the hospital at no cost in a bid to boost morale in these challenging times.
“The work they do at South Tyneside Hospital is incredible at the best of times,” said Shahnoor Choudhury, owner of Zeera.
“These are exceptional circumstances and we just wanted to do our bit to help them through this tough time.
“We all need to pull together at this time and if this boosts morale in any way, then we will have done our job.”
Award-winning Zeera offers the finest gourmet Indian food in opulent contemporary surroundings.
The Ocean Road family business attracts discerning diners from across the region who come to enjoy sumptuous Indian dishes that blend ethnic cuisine with a modern and progressive presentational twist.
It is Zeera’s commitment to the highest standards that won the restaurant a place at the national British Curry Awards and a Silver Taste of England Award at the North East England Tourism Award.
