NE Youth, the North East leading youth development charity marked International Women's Day with two vibrant events that brought women together to connect, celebrate, raise awareness and vital funds.
NE Youth, based in Blaydon, hosted both a small networking gathering at the stunning piano bar at 3 Sixty in Newcastle and a lively supper club at The Wood Oven in Wylam, raising more than £2,000 to support young women & girls across the region.
The IWD celebrations began with an intimate afternoon networking event at 3Sixty in Newcastle, bringing together local women from across business, charity and community sectors to share experiences, build connections and celebrate the achievements of women in the North East.
A few days later, around 40 women gathered for a special International Women’s Day supper club at the Wood Oven. Guests enjoyed an evening of great food, conversation and entertainment while raising over £2000 for NE Youth’s work with girls and young women.
The night featured inspiring talks, delicious wood-fired pizza and live music from Channy and Georgina Gale, which had guests dancing and celebrating long into the evening.
Dee Macdonald commented; “International Women’s Day is all about celebrating the power of women coming together, and that’s exactly what these events achieved. It was incredible to see so many women connecting, supporting each other and raising funds for girls and young women in our region. We’re so grateful to everyone who came along and helped make the events such a success. Big thanks to David Gray Solicitors who have sponsored the IWD Supper Club for ten years!”
NE Youth believes that all young people deserve to get involved in their communities, enjoy their lives and achieve their potential.
