"mental Health In The Workforce Has Never Been So Important"

Issue 68

With mental health of the business community at an all time low and GP waiting times at an all time high, Barney Battles, Scottish entrepreneur and founder of The League of Angels has launched MindSpace247; an employee support programme that the whole workforce can access in any business, from the CEO to every member of staff.

The entrepreneur and seasoned businessman has worked hard to get the detail right, working with a high profile team of highly qualified counsellors and therapists.

Barney Battles said: “After one of the most challenging years for decades, it’s inevitable that the majority of businesses and their employees are feeling very stressed – and that’s from home to work and everything in between. Everything we have ever known has been turned upside down. It’s confidential, simple and effective to use. A zoom or call from the privacy of your home, office, car or even while taking a walk. At the end of the phone is a highly qualified counsellor ready and available to talk about everything from anxiety, relationship and financial issues, feeling overwhelmed, bereavement, stress and everything beyond.

Respected television and celebrity psychologist Dr Arthur Cassidy said: “The UK will be in crisis mode for at least another few years and the recent past has taken its toll on individuals mental and physical health. The move towards private mental health care is increasing and with it comes premium quality, professional psychological and counselling services by accredited therapists. The business community needs to bring this to their workforce. I’m proud to be associated with MindSpace247, it’s what we all need right now.” Former Newcastle Falcons and England International Tom May is passionate about mental health and the business world getting back to some kind of normality. Tom May said: “Coming from the world of professional sport, I understand the link between physical and mental health. Having made the transition away from rugby in 2015, I am fully aware of the impact mental health can have, no matter who you are. There are so many simple actions we can take to help our everyday wellbeing, both from a physical and mental point of view, but there are also those times when you need outside support.

This is why Mindspace247 feels so important, especially after such a huge focus on mental health. From my own experience, I know this should not be ignored. We need to be more open to talking about our emotions; it’s not something to be afraid of and this is the message that I want to share.” With employers looking to support their workforce and human resources working hard on their CSR and output, MindSpace247 is aimed at every business sector and size as well as individuals.

Founder of MindSpace247 Barney Battles continued: “There isn’t a sector in the UK which hasn’t been impacted in some form and we are aware that this fallout will require long term recovery for us all.”
