Major Inroads To Be Made In Us Markets Around Climate Change And Sustainability As New Director Appointed

Issue 80

Global manpower provider, Samuel Knight International, has announced the appointment of Jorel Bautista as director.

Jorel, joins from Frank Recruitment Group and will head the newly created Samuel Knight Climate-Tech division, which is dedicated to recruitment throughout the USA, Canada and Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA) region.

It will partner with climate-tech companies whose mission is to have a positive impact on sustainability and climate change by using innovative technology.

Established eight years ago, Samuel Knight International has grown to a multi-million-pound business and this year saw the creation of Samuel Knight International Group, consisting of Samuel Knight Rail, Samuel Knight Energy and two new service solutions to support the renewable energy sector – Samuel Knight Climate-Tech and Samuel Knight Projects.

Headquartered in Newcastle, the Group includes offices throughout London, Wales and Bristol and has teams based across the US in Chicago and Dallas, with a satellite office in Boston. Clients include Enel Green Power, multinational conglomerate holding company, Berkshire Hathaway and natural gas and electric power holding company, Duke Energy.

Samuel Knight Climate-Tech will support the energy, environment, and infrastructure sectors and share the collective vision to build a greener and more environmentally friendly world by working with its global community to achieve zero carbon emissions by 2050.

Steven Rawlingson, CEO and founder, said: “This is a very exciting time for us as an organisation. We have worked hard for eight years to perfect our vision and strategy.

“Samuel Knight Climate-Tech will enhance our global community. There are very few recruiters who specialise in climate-tech. We saw a gap in the market to provide the best solution to our community and Jorel is primed with the experience and enthusiasm to take this forward.

“Jorel is an expert within this area and with his drive and ambition we can look to scale the business under the Samuel Knight International holding brand.

“Within the next year we will be announcing up to 20 new appointments who will be based within our Newcastle headquarters and operating in the US. They will be working within the Samuel Knight Climate-Tech team. Our aim this year and next is to build a solid foundation within Climate-Tech which will then allow us to grow exponentially in 2024 and enter new markets.

“This division of the business has already secured high-calibre customers including Siemens and Vestas. Our aim is to continue to build on our presence in the US and Canada markets as well as breaking into the European and Asia-Pacific (APAC) markets.

“Jorel has extensive knowledge having worked within these areas and this will be invaluable to us moving forward.

“2022 saw the creation of our Group portfolio and by 2025 we want our turnover to reach £100 million. We have the correct foundations in place and my goal from day one for Samuel Knight International is to become an employee-owned organisation. This is what we are working towards.

“Samuel Knight Climate-Tech will work with companies whose aim is to have a positive impact on sustainability and climate change through innovative technology. We will assist them to recruit the best talent to drive the world’s transition to sustainable energy.”

Jorel Bautista, director at Samuel Knight Climate-Tech, said: “I have known Steven and the team at Samuel Knight International for a number of years now. They had approached me previously to join the organisation but now felt like the right time.

“The company is going from strength-to-strength and I wanted to build a business unit and create a legacy. Climate change is happening and we all need to act quickly.

“We will be working with like-minded companies who want to use technology to reduce climate emissions and also address climate change. I am looking forward to working with the team to drive Samuel Knight Climate-Tech forward and building my team across Newcastle, Dallas and California.”
