Gbea Names North East Judge

Issue 59

The Great British Entrepreneur Awards (GBEA) has named a judge from the North East on their impressive panel and he is urging talent from the region to apply.

Andrew Marsh is delighted to be on the judging rosta for the prestigious national awards, bringing with him 30 years of experience in running multi-million pound businesses, from where he now encourages talent and facilitates growth amongst the entrepreneurial community in the region.

The GBEA supports and champions Great British Entrepreneurs in a multitude of categories. Working in partnership with Starling Bank, the entry deadline this year is 3rd July 2020. The awards themselves have been re-imagined due to COVID-19 and the regional finals will now place online. It is hoped that the national finals will go ahead in November in London.

Andrew, who is also a Vistage Chair and owns Marsh Business Transformations, is keen to see as many North East entrepreneurs shine the light on their success as possible. He said:

“It is a real accolade to be named on the judging panel for these high caliber awards. It would be a great pat on the back for the region’s talent if many of entrepreneurs entered themselves. If you know an award worthy business person, then why not nominate them to give them the nudge to enter?

“We are a region of huge resilience and great ability, so I hope to see that showcased at the final in November.”

Andrew currently supports a number of businesses across the region in the capacity of Non Exec Director, and is also the chair of Age UK Northumberland. He is looking forward to seeing entries, especially from the young entrepreneur, start up and scale up categories. He concluded:

“These categories are where the region truly excels at the moment. There are people doing remarkable things that should be celebrated. I have the pleasure of supporting lots of managing directors, business owners and company directors through my Vistage role, NED roles and through my own company so I know the level of talent and urge you all to enter!”
