Edwards Commercial Cleaning

Family Values. Professional Standards.

When Paul Edwards launched Edwards Commercial Cleaning in 2003, it was a huge leap of faith.

After years working within the industry, Paul believed there was a better way to support clients. One built on reliability, relationships and high standards. To make it happen, he sold his home and invested everything into building the business.

More than twenty years later, Edwards Commercial Cleaning has grown into one of the region’s leading commercial cleaning providers, supporting organisations across office, industrial, educational, healthcare and manufacturing environments throughout the North East and Yorkshire.

Despite that growth, Edwards remains a family-run business at heart.

“Family values are at the centre of everything we do,” says Paul. “Trust, honesty and teamwork matter to us. We build long-term relationships with our clients and we genuinely care about the environments we work in.”

“What makes this business work is our teams on the ground every single day,” says Paul. “Our cleaners are the face of the company. They build relationships with clients; take pride in the environments they work in and play a huge role in maintaining standards.”

Rather than a traditional top-down management style, Edwards focuses on supporting and empowering its teams across every level of the business.

“We believe in supporting our teams properly and giving them the tools, communication and encouragement they need to do the very best job possible. Our management team is there to support the cleaners because they are the people delivering the service day in and day out.”

Working alongside Paul are members of his own family, supported by a wider team that plays a huge role in driving the business forward. That strong culture has helped Edwards build partnerships with organisations including Greggs, Unipres, Egger, Newcastle High School for Girls and many more across the region.

Alongside its continued growth, the company has recently strengthened its Yorkshire presence with the opening of a new office in Wakefield. The investment reflects the growing demand for Edwards’ services and reinforces the company’s commitment to supporting clients locally.

But growth is only one part of the story.

Sustainability has become a major focus for the business in recent years. Edwards Commercial Cleaning recently received the Sustainability Award (SME) at the NEAA Awards, recognising the company’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact and operating more responsibly across all areas of the business.

From investing in safer cleaning products and reducing plastic usage to improving route planning and lowering fuel consumption, sustainability is embedded into day-to-day operations.

“We take our environmental responsibilities seriously,” explains Paul. “We’re always looking at ways to improve, whether that’s through the products we use, reducing waste or investing in better systems and technology. Sustainability isn’t something we do for recognition, it’s something we believe is important for the future of the business and the industry.”

Innovation also continues to shape the sector. Following a recent visit to Interclean, one of the world’s largest cleaning industry exhibitions, the Edwards team explored the latest developments in robotics and specialist equipment.

However, for Paul, great service still comes back to people.

“You can have all the latest gear in the world, but cleaning is still a people business. It’s about trust, communication and having teams that genuinely care about doing a good job.”

That approach has helped Edwards Commercial Cleaning become a trusted long-term partner for businesses across the North East and Yorkshire.

As Edwards Commercial Cleaning continues to grow, the focus remains unchanged: delivering reliable, high-quality cleaning services to world-class businesses while continuing to invest in people, relationships and the future of the industry.
