Issue 58

Unique Health clubs based in Durham have been one step ahead of COVID -19 in regards to keeping their community active.

“We feel as a business it is our responsibility to keep our community healthy during these testing times” Co-Founder and Sales Director Chris Fairless explains that even though we have been forced to temporary close the business we still have a responsibility to our community to help them stay fit both physically and mentally in times that they need it the most.

Unique Health Clubs have created an free online community in which the Personal Trainers and other industry experts share voluntary live workouts, nutritional advice and live seminars. The group is available to members and non-members to join. Managing Director and Co- Founder Aaron Arkley added “what is truly amazing is that every class, seminar and post the trainers put in the group is totally voluntary! This shows that their chosen profession is more than a job, it’s a passion for helping people and our community have massively benefited from this”

On top of the online community Zest Kitchen, healthy food café and meal prep service located within the gym would normally be bustling with customers drinking shakes and eating healthy food, they have taken up the responsibility to deliver meals contact free to the doors of people in our community that may be too vulnerable to head to the supermarket or NHS staff that are mostly in need of good nutrition.

The whole team are looking forward to getting back to doing what they do best and changing lives and helping people lead healthy lifestyles.
