A conversation with Gillespie Recruitment.
Congratulations on five years in business! What does this milestone mean to you?
Thank you, it really does mean a lot. Reaching five years feels like a moment to pause and reflect on our journey so far. We’ve met so many incredible people along the way, both clients and candidates, and that’s what makes it so special. For us, it’s not just about business growth, it’s about the relationships we’ve built, and the trust people have placed in us.
What inspired you to start Gillespie Recruitment?
At its heart, it was about people. We felt there was an opportunity to bring a more honest, caring, and personal approach to recruitment. We wanted to move away from the “one-size fits-all” mentality and instead really listen, understanding what motivates someone, what a business truly needs, and what makes a placement successful long-term.
How would you describe your approach to recruitment?
We’re very much relationship led. We take time to get to know people properly, their goals, their challenges, and what success looks like to them. Whether it’s a business looking to grow their team or someone searching for their next opportunity, we treat every interaction with care. Recruitment can be life-changing for people, so we take that responsibility seriously.
What makes Gillespie Recruitment different?
We genuinely care. That might sound simple, but it’s something people really notice. We’re honest, approachable, and are always focused on doing the right thing. Our aim is to build long-term partnerships, not just make quick placements.
What have been some highlights over the past five years?
Seeing people thrive in roles we’ve helped them secure is always a highlight. We’ve had candidates come back to us later as clients, which is incredibly rewarding as it shows the relationships we build really do last. Growing our reputation locally and becoming a trusted name has also been something we’re very proud of.
How important is the local community to your business?
It’s hugely important. We’re proud to work closely with local businesses and support people within our community. Being local means, we understand the market, but more than that, we understand the people and that makes a huge difference.
What’s next for Gillespie Recruitment?
We’ll keep doing what we do best, which is putting people first. We’re always learning, always adapting, and always looking for ways to improve. The future is about continuing to build strong relationships and helping even more people and businesses succeed.
Finally, how are you celebrating?
We held a great networking event here at NE BIC with Aoife Forbes of Forbes Finishings! We really appreciate the support we have received from our clients, candidates, and the local business community. We’re excited for what the next five years will bring!
At Gillespie Recruitment, it’s always been about people. Whether you’re growing your team or looking for your next opportunity, we’re here to help, let’s start the conversation!
