Built By Local Businesses, For Local Businesses

Issue 124

By The North Tyneside Business Forum

The North Tyneside Business Forum is volunteer-led by local business owners. That means it is shaped by the needs of the business community, for the business community.

At a time when many SMEs are facing rising costs, recruitment pressures, and increasing competition, local businesses are placing greater value on practical support, trusted relationships, and genuine collaboration.

Established as a Community Interest Company in 2012, the Forum was created to connect, support, and champion businesses across North Tyneside while helping strengthen the local economy through shared opportunity.

Led by business owners themselves, the Forum remains closely connected to the realities of running a business in North Tyneside. The conversations are relevant, the advice is practical, and the relationships built are driven by shared understanding rather than transactional networking. Just as importantly, the Forum has helped nurture a welcoming and supportive business community where local companies can connect openly, share experiences, and support one another.

Over the years, we have seen how valuable local relationships can become. A conversation at an event can lead to a new client, a trusted supplier, expert advice, or a collaboration that creates new opportunities. In many cases, simply having access to other local businesses facing similar challenges can make a significant difference.

North Tyneside has a strong and diverse business community, and businesses that stay connected locally are often better positioned to identify opportunities, build resilience, and support long-term regional growth.

Endorsed by North Tyneside Council, the Forum continues to provide free networking events, workshops, and support for businesses with a trading address in North Tyneside. More importantly, it continues to create opportunities for businesses of all sizes to connect, collaborate, and grow together.

As businesses look ahead, strong local networks may prove to be one of the most valuable assets a business can have.
