The stage adaptation of Irving Berlins classic musical White Christmas arrived at the Sunderland Empire this week and provided the perfect way to kickstart the festive season.
Over 2 fun packed hours a tremendous ensemble cast lovingly brought this timeless show to life showcasing classic songs such as “Let Me Sing and I’m Happy,” “How Deep is the Ocean,” and of course the eternal title number.
Stand out performances came from ex-Brookside favourite Michael Starke as General Henry Waverly, Dan Burton as Phil Davis and a scene stealing turn from stage veteran Lorna Luft as Martha Watson.
In these continued challenging times White Christmas provided the perfect tonic.
