Triumphant Return For The Trotters

Issue 107

Over 7 series and numerous specials Only Fools and Horses became a national treasure and TV phenomenon.

Despite finishing 20 years ago it has lost none of its popularity with episodes repeated daily on UK Gold. Sadly the death of writing genius John Sullivan prevented a planned return to our screens.

Now however the classic show has been adapted into a stage musical which played to great acclaim at a packed Sunderland Empire last night.

In 2 hugely entertaining hours a superb ensemble cast brought the story of the Trotter brothers magically to life.

Sam Lupton made a fantastic Del while Tom Major was equally as good as his kid brother Rodney. Elsewhere Craig Berry was brilliant as the used car salesman Boycie.

The show cleverly knitted many of the best bits of the original programme together with the added songs tremendously entertaining.

A must see for all fans of this iconic show, or as Del Boy would say “cushty !”
