Want cost-effective, personal service from a recruitment company? That'll be Lets Recruit then!
When you talk to Sam Bailey, Recruitment Director for Lets Recruit, you quickly discover that he and his team do recruitment differently.
From their North East offices in South Shields and Gosforth…as well as the company’s head office in Derby…Lets Recruit has quickly built a reputation for offering an alternative to traditional recruitment agencies. You may recognise some of them…they’re the ones that charge high placement fees and seem to operate using a policy of churning over as many work positions as quickly as possible. It all feels a bit like a conveyor belt.
“Those are some of the reasons why I decided to move away from working with large recruitment firms and concentrate on providing a personal service which is up-front about what we charge…and how we charge,” said Sam. “It’s not about numbers; it’s about finding the right person for the right position. Doing that takes time but when we get some cracking feedback about how a candidate has fitted-in perfectly at a company or how much they’re enjoying the job, it makes it all worthwhile.
“It’s also why we’re so proud of our high levels of retention in terms of client businesses. They keep coming back to us…there’s no higher recommendation…and it proves they like how we operate and what sort of fees we charge. We’re totally transparent about every stage of the recruitment process.”
Lets Recruit operate locally and nationally. They’re particularly busy across the North East, North West, Midlands and Birmingham areas. They mainly specialise in the financial, property and legal marketplace, but they also have contacts which can help in other sectors too.
“When we launched Lets Recruit, our main aim was to improve the recruitment experience for both employers and job seekers. We knew that companies and organisations were frustrated with high recruitment fees and unclear pricing structures. To address this, we introduced lower rates and a transparent model designed to offer a more affordable option for businesses seeking new staff. Instead of the large percentage fees commonly associated with recruitment agencies, we have a clear pricing structure with no hidden charges and a clear cost from the outset.
“We also wanted everything to be more personal. Whenever a company or a potential candidate gets in touch with us here at Lets Recruit, they will more than likely speak to me or one of the other directors. We will be the first point of contact.
If a company is looking for a candidate, we ascertain precisely what sort of person they’re looking for. The advantage of personally dealing with firms is that I will already know what sort of candidate would be ideal for many of them. If it is an individual who contacts us and is looking for a new position, we always have an in-depth conversation with them because, apart from them knowing they want a different job or want to move from what they’re currently doing, a lot of people don’t really know what they want and what is already out there. They’re not focused. They might see a job posting and think it would be something they’d fancy…but they haven’t really done their research…so we do it and help them decide what position they’d be ideally suited to. We can also provide more details about the job market.
“It’s also important when a company contacts us about a particular vacancy they want to fill, that we can offer them candidates with the appropriate skills and experience. We’d never simply fire over a load of CVs because that would mean the company then has to spend time sifting through them and doing additional research. Our aim is to do all of the leg work and send them a small selection of people we know can fulfil the job requirements.”
