NE Youth Impact Awards shine a spotlight on young people, youth workers, and volunteers across the North East.
NE Youth welcomed nearly 400 young people, members, supporters, sponsors, and guests to its annual Impact Awards at The Grand Hotel, Gosforth Park. The evening was a vibrant celebration of the outstanding individuals and organisations that make up the NE Youth network, filled with energy, passion, and excitement.
The event was hosted by three inspiring young leaders from Peer Action Collective (PAC) – Penny, Lucy, and Arthur – who guided the audience through the awards with enthusiasm and plenty of laughter.
Guests enjoyed incredible performances from talented young people across the region, including MK Diamonds Cheerleaders, Room 14 DofE Band, and Jack McQuillan, each bringing the house down with their energy and creativity.
Award Highlights:
Youth Worker of the Year: Thomas Stoneman, Stepney Bank Stables
Most Improved of the Year: Action Foundation Young Lives
Young Volunteer of the Year: Jannah Rahman Rehman, Projects 4 Change
“I’m still shaking!” said Jannah moments after receiving her award “This recognition made me realise how much I’ve achieved and how vital youth work is. I love supporting young people and making a difference.”
All nominees were exceptional, making it an incredibly tough job for the judges to choose winners.
These celebrations wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of sponsors, including David Gray Solicitors, Point North, Pale Fountain, University of Sunderland and Gateshead College.
The Impact Awards once again highlighted the talent, dedication, and community spirit that define NE Youth and its network.
Jon Niblo, CEO of NE Youth, commented: “The Impact Awards showcase the best of what happens when young people are given opportunities to thrive. Times are tough for many right now, but we must continue to invest in our young people. The energy, commitment, and creativity we’ve seen tonight never cease to amaze me. A huge thank you to our sponsors and everyone who made this evening so special.”
