North East Automotive Expo 2025 Returns As Business Wins Drive Momentum

Issue 113

The flagship North East Automotive Expo 2025 returns in September with growing evidence that exhibitors are winning major contracts as a direct result of attending.

The Expo, on Thursday 25 September, at the Beacon of Light, Sunderland, brings together companies from across the entire supply chain, including pioneering original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), Tier One suppliers, SMEs and specialist service providers.

Unveiling a refreshed brand identity, the Expo continues to evolve and is a key event for driving business development, strengthening supply chain relationships and showcasing the region’s expertise in manufacturing and innovation. Delivered by the North East Automotive Alliance (NEAA), it supports companies at every stage of their growth.

A notable success from last year’s event comes from Digital Office Solutions, which secured a significant contract with Tier One supplier, Highly Marelli, following a meeting at the 2024 Expo. The Teesside-based firm has since delivered software to support safety, quality and performance on the shop floor, alongside digital display hardware and office print systems.

James Hamer, regional sales manager at Digital Office Solutions, said: “The Expo provided the ideal platform to connect with a key new customer. Our relationship with Highly Marelli began at the event in 2024. It allowed us to have meaningful conversations that quickly developed into a significant order.

“We have since delivered a tailored solution to support its operations and it all started with a conversation at the Expo. That is what makes it such a valuable platform for any business wanting to grow within the automotive sector.”

This year’s event will feature more than 100 exhibitors and is expected to attract over 800 delegates from across the UK. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore new technologies, engage with key buyers and participate in a comprehensive programme of presentations and industry forums.

The exclusive Meet the Buyer initiative, sponsored by Prospot, returns once again, along with the Tech Zone and Skills Lounge which will highlight innovation and workforce development.

A robust line-up of sponsors supports the Expo. Returning supporters include Sunderland City Council, Invest South Tyneside, TR Fastenings, Masfix, Prospot, Education Partnership North East, CMYK Business Technology, Smart Manufacturing Solutions, SMS Technology and Horizon Works. They are joined this year by new sponsors Pirtek Tyne & Wear and Preston Technical.

Paul Butler, chief executive of the NEAA, said: “The Expo continues to provide significant value for exhibitors and attendees alike.

“Every year, we see businesses forging relationships that lead to contracts and commercial success. The Digital Office Solutions story is a perfect example of what this event is designed to achieve.

“As the North East continues to lead in automotive manufacturing and innovation, the Expo is a vital platform for bringing the sector together and helping it thrive.”

Exhibition space is now available, with discounted rates for NEAA members.
