Carbon Opens Newcastle Business Hub In Strategic Uk Growth Move

Issue 113

Carbon, a leading provider of sustainable print and digital workflow solutions, has announced the opening of a new regional base in Newcastle, its first English office and a significant step in the company’s UK expansion strategy.

Located at Cobalt Business Park in North Tyneside, the six-figure investment in the new base marks a new chapter in Carbon’s long-term growth plan and establishes a strategic foothold in North East England.

Launched to provide enhanced support to clients across Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham, Teesside and the wider region, the new regional base reinforces Carbon’s commitment to delivering local service on a national scale.

Providing top quality multifunctional printers and scanners, Carbon focuses on helping businesses transition to digital through a suite of workflow solutions. The company has played a key role in helping companies streamline operations, reduce costs, and meet environmental goals through cloud-based print management and digitised systems.

Headquartered in Aberdeen, Carbon has grown significantly in recent years, achieving 150% growth and £3.8 million in revenue by the end of its 2025 financial year. The recently opened Newcastle office represents the next logical step in its expansion journey following its move into Scotland’s Central Belt.

“Opening a new office in Newcastle was a natural next step for us,” said Stewart Hunter, Regional Director for Carbon.

“Newcastle and the wider North East represent a huge opportunity, not just in terms of business growth, but in how we can better support the clients we already work with in the region.

“Having a regional presence will allow us to deliver a personalised service, tailored to the needs of each client. There is significant potential across a range of sectors including education, legal, manufacturing, and the energy industry.

“I’m proud to be leading our efforts here and look forward to contributing to the business community across the North East and beyond.”

With over 22 years of experience in the print industry, Stewart brings a deep understanding of client needs and has previously held senior positions within global print organisations. His appointment underlines Carbon’s intention to embed itself in North East England’s business community.

Additionally, Carbon is one of only two Platinum Partners currently operating in the region and also holds Diamond Partner status with Epson, reflecting its market leading position and commitment to delivering best-in-class, energy efficient print solutions.

The move also supports Carbon’s ambition to lead the market in sustainable, heat-free print technology and cloud-based digital workflows, helping clients meet both operational and environmental goals.

The firm has successfully completed in excess of 1,300 installations in the last financial year and onboarded 132 new clients to its sustainable printing services, with a number of major contract wins secured including Peterson’s, University of Aberdeen, Albert Bartlet, Px Group, St Andrews Links Trust, NWH Group, Brimmond, Houston Bottling & Co-Pack, Stork and Sentinol Marine.

Colin Yule, Carbon’s Managing Director, commented, “The North East of England is home to a dynamic and growing business landscape, and our Newcastle office puts us in the perfect position to support that with innovative, secure and energy efficient solutions.

“As we continue to scale, our focus remains on providing local, high-quality service backed by the strength of our partnerships and the expertise of our people.”
