Four female business owners are celebrating a hugely successful year supporting the North East business community throughout the pandemic.
It was clear with the onset of the pandemic, that HR leaders would be relied upon more than ever before. Within a matter of days, business leaders gravitated towards HR to have answers to situations that they had never previously experienced. With teams rapidly moving from crisis management, enabling home working, and then navigating the furlough scheme – we knew that HR teams were experiencing incredible pressure.
So there we were, four female business leaders joining forces to create a formidable North East People & Leadership network; Lynn Bennett of Lynn Bennett Resourcing, Elaine Jordan of Extension Recruitment, Sharon MacArthur of Miss Menopause fame and Red Handbag, and Lyn Carruthers of Culture Vine.
Our primary goal was to support those people leaders throughout one of the most difficult and challenging times in their career. We wanted to give people live and relevant knowledge in bite size, interactive web sessions, and create a safe place where HR leaders could build a network, all free of charge! Industry experts hosted sessions covering wellbeing in the workplace, communicating with teams remotely, how to manage people and teams remotely, alongside diversity and inclusion, change management and emotional intelligence amongst many others.

It’s the amazing feedback and demand which drives us to keep going as we look forward to an exciting second year!”
