Unprecedented Move To Remote Working Contributes To A Year Of Growth

Issue 63

Newcastle-based Activ Technology, is ending a strong year with a prediction that remote working will continue for the vast majority of UK companies in 2021.

The year also draws to a close with the attainment of Microsoft Gold-certified partner and Mitel silver partner status.

Microsoft has declared that Activ has successfully committed itself to evolving Microsoft technologies to the benefit of its clients and the Mitel silver partner status means Activ’s expertise across the full suite of Mitel products has been recognised, as well as its ability to deliver an exceptional level of service, technical capability and sales.

Formed in 2010, Activ provides managed IT and telephony services to SME and education partners, supporting their IT, mobile and telecom infrastructures and it provides the day-to-day support needed to run their businesses.

Finance director, Michael Hearns, said: “Despite the most turbulent year on record, Activ has continued to provide exceptional levels of service and support. We have a very solid and capable team, and this has helped us to develop trust and to build long standing relationships. As we move into 2021, we will continue to grow our portfolio of cloud-based solutions to help businesses adapt to the changing climate.”

Sales manager, Dean Cowens, added: “Covid-19 has, of course, written an indelible footprint on every business, including our own. As one of the region’s largest IT support companies, many clients looked to us for innovative solutions during the course of the year. It is fair to say the pandemic has changed the way many companies and individuals operate, forever. Remote working is now not just an option but is the day-to-day reality for many.

“So, during 2020, we have assisted customers transfer to the cloud, allowing new ways of working without the team having to be onsite. Many organisations have also taken advantage of Microsoft Office 365. This offers cloud-based software-as-a-service and products such as Exchange online, Teams and SharePoint. Smaller organisations have been able to work using this technology, exclusively. Others have leveraged it with supporting technologies and other cloud platforms, such as Microsoft Azure and Citrix cloud.”

Managing director, Ian Gillespie, said: “We have had a somewhat strong and stable year as we have navigated through the unforeseen impact of covid. We have really played to our strengths and as we head towards 2021, we will continue to look out for talented individuals and key partners to join us as we build on our product offering and double down on delivering the very best managed services to those in need.”
