Eclipse Wholesale's Expanding Alt-net Portfolio

Issue 126

Gateshead-based Eclipse Wholesale has been helping UK telecoms resellers grow their businesses for over two decades, through a comprehensive portfolio of connectivity and communications solutions.

As demand for faster, more resilient connectivity continues to increase, the team has remained committed to expanding their alternative network portfolio, giving partners greater choice and wider coverage across the UK.

The UK’s fibre landscape has evolved rapidly over recent years, with alternative network providers investing heavily in new infrastructure to complement the Openreach network. Recognising the value this brings to the channel, Eclipse Wholesale has continued to strengthen their partnerships with some of the country’s leading alt-nets, ensuring resellers can access the right connectivity solution for every customer.

Long-standing partnerships with CityFibre and ITS have played a key role in this strategy. Both providers have continued to expand their footprints, with recent builds taking place across the Northeast, creating more opportunities for partners to deliver high-speed fibre to businesses throughout the region.

Building on this success, Eclipse Wholesale has recently expanded its portfolio even further by welcoming KCOM, MS3, Freedom Fibre and Trooli. Each provider strengthens coverage in key parts of the UK, allowing partners to reach more customers than ever before.

Trooli brings extensive fibre coverage across Scotland and the Southeast, while Freedom Fibre continues to expand its network throughout the Northwest. Meanwhile, KCOM and MS3 provide strong coverage across the Humber region, giving partners access to high-quality connectivity in areas that have historically been served by a smaller number of network providers.

For Eclipse Wholesale’s Managing Director, James Drake, the addition of KCOM is particularly significant. James began his career in telecommunications as an apprentice at KCOM over 30 years ago, making the new partnership a genuine full-circle moment. Having started his journey with the company at the beginning of his telecoms career, returning as a valued wholesale partner represents both a personal milestone and another important step in Eclipse Wholesale’s continued growth.

The expansion of the alt-net portfolio reflects Eclipse Wholesale’s wider commitment to providing a truly channelfocused service. Rather than relying on a single network, partners can choose from multiple infrastructure providers to find the best solution for each customer based on location, availability, performance and commercial requirements.

This flexibility not only improves service availability but also helps resellers remain competitive in an increasingly dynamic market. Whether supporting businesses in major cities or reaching customers in previously underserved areas, Eclipse Wholesale’s growing network portfolio enables partners to deliver reliable, future-ready connectivity.

Eclipse Wholesale remains committed to expanding their portfolio and supporting partners with the widest possible range of connectivity solutions. By combining nationwide coverage with a growing choice of leading alternative networks, the company is helping channel partners win more business and deliver high-quality connectivity to customers across the country.
