All Set For An ‘activ’ New Year

Issue 42

Newcastle-based Activ Technology has ended 2018 with great confidence, having opened its first office outside of the North East and achieving strong revenue growth across its divisions.

Formed in 2010, the company has 28 staff and is a managed service provider for IT and telecommunications across the North of England and Scotland.

During 2018, its technology division grew revenue by 122%, telecoms by 53% and it appointed a five-strong team at its new office in Dumfries, Scotland.

Managing director, Ian Gillespie, said: “We operate in a competitive market but by remaining agile, innovative and steadily increasing our product offering, we are seeing good growth. By way of example, we have secured a number of local colleges, due to the introduction of Promethean interactive panels.

“The interactive touch screens transform the classroom experience by providing a mix of technology combined with lesson delivery software, enhancing student collaboration and learning.

“We also now offer Mitel products, which allow an organisation to simplify its business communications with cloud solutions, so allowing us to gain a strong foothold in a number of sectors.

“Our focus for the year ahead is to continue to attract high calibre people and to grow our base in Scotland, where our offering is being very well received. We are ambitious and Dumfries, given its proximity to our Newcastle base and our growing customer portfolio in that area, is the natural next step for us.

“We predict further growth across all divisions, mobile, unified communications, energy and IT and we will be working hard to attract and retain customers as well as growing the teams in both Scotland and the North East.”
