Able Construction Appoints Angela Carney As Non-executive Director

Able Construction has appointed Angela Carney as a non-executive director, further strengthening its leadership team.

A well-known name within the built environment, Angela has over 30 years of construction expertise, including as managing director at Carney Consultancy, providing quality, safety, health and environmental consultancy and training.

Established in 1987, Gateshead-based Able Construction offers design and build, general construction and refurbishment. The company has built a strong reputation across a variety of sectors, including new build social housing, education and healthcare.

Angela is co-chair of Working Well Together North East, on the Board of Directors for Constructing Excellence in the North East and sits on its People Group. She is the current president of Northern Counties Builders Federation, a school’s liaison for the National Association of Women in Construction North East and a committee member for the Lighthouse Club Construction Charity.

Angela, said: “I am delighted to join Able Construction as non-executive director. Having built Carney Consultancy from scratch 24 years ago, I have helped develop long term careers for members of my own team including our directors, who are now running the business.

“I am looking forward to offering strategic and independent business advice, which has a focus on action planning and strengthening leadership skills, such as communication, delegation and strategic thinking.”
