Collaboration Hub Continues To Drive Member Partnership

Issue 69

The North East Automotive Alliance has added to its successful track record of linking members together, as Compliant and Speedings announce a key partnership.

Sunderland-based, Compliant, has been awarded a contract to provide fellow member, Speedings, also located in Sunderland, with assistance in relation to its health and safety provision.

The successful relationship, the direct result of a Meet the Buyer online event, hosted by the North East Automotive Alliance, in February, where the two companies were introduced for the first time, has now led to Compliant being requested to manage Speedings’ UKAS ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

Delivering UKAS Accredited ISO Certification, Compliant provides organisations with ISO integrated management systems and also supports with ISO certification. It also has a wealth of experience in health and safety and asset management.

Speedings, providers of protective equipment and suppliers for emergency services in the UK, has designed and manufactured safety products for every fire and rescue service in Great Britain and Ireland, including airport fire services, since 1827.

The North East Automotive Alliance (NEAA) is a not-for-profit, industry-led cluster group, established to support the sustainable economic growth and competitiveness of the North East of England’s automotive sector. With over 300 companies engaged, it is the largest automotive cluster in the UK and one of the biggest in Europe.

Members benefit from the promotion of the North East automotive sector’s capabilities on regional, national and international levels and the network’s ability to connect the supply chain to business opportunities. The network generates collaboration opportunities and hosts regular networking and knowledge transfer events. Members also gain from strategic direction, support with route to market, profile raising, shared intelligence, capability improvement, knowledge transfer and sector engagement.

Rob Hammal, director, Speedings, said: “Compliant are a pleasure to work with. Having met with them at an NEAA event, we could see the company was able to support our health and safety provision. After completing some initial work, which we were happy with, Compliant has taken on a bigger work scope and now manages our ISO quality management system.”

Mark Henderson, director, Compliant, said: “We are delighted to be working with such a progressive and growing company in the North East and look forward to building further on our relationship in the coming months. Our sales and marketing manager, Nicola Halse, regularly attends NEAA events and has built a fantastic relationship with the team and fellow members. The Meet the Buyer online event was a great opportunity for us to discuss our services with businesses looking to grow. We’ve been impressed with how the North East Automotive Alliance team has continued with its services to members during Covid and our contract win has proven how successful this has been.”

Earlier in the year, the NEAA announced collaboration between GT Group and global logistics specialist, ThinkPrime and, more recently, members, If.Vehicle and Algorithm People have joined forces, offering a combined solution to enable mobile transient hubs for last-mile logistics and have committed to work together on future product development.

Paul Butler, CEO, North East Automotive Alliance, said: “Despite the disruption of the pandemic and the uncertainty within the global market, we have seen our membership body flourish and collaboration has been key to growth.

“Due to covid restrictions we had to change the delivery model of all our face-to-face events transitioning to a virtual platform for everyone’s safety, and this included the Meet the Buyer event, which usually takes place as part of our flagship Expo. The event proved to be hugely successful in connecting buyers and suppliers and giving members the opportunity to engage with one another. The partnership between Compliant and Speedings, highlights the value of the Meet the Buyer event and the fantastic networking opportunities available.

“We must also applaud members, If.Vehicle and Algorithm People for coming together to drive sustainability via state-of-the-art products that result in CO2 emission reductions and also via quality management.”
