‘tee-rific’ Support As Brewin Dolphin Backs Open North Foundation

Issue 67

Newcastle-based, Brewin Dolphin, has pledged its support to Open North Foundation with the hosting of a golf day to raise much needed funds for the not-for-profit organisation.

The event will take place at Close House on 14 September.

Thanks to the generosity of individuals and a vast, diverse range of companies and organisations, Open North Foundation administers grant aid and in-kind support, such as marketing and accountancy, to small to medium sized businesses in the region who, but for the pandemic, would be financially viable and offering high quality jobs.

Gary Fawcett, regional divisional director at Brewin Dolphin, said: “Brewin Dolphin, through its office network, is committed to helping the communities in which we live and work. Not only have we committed funds to national initiatives, we are also providing much needed help across the North East via our small community grants programme, our staff volunteering programme, our office charity of the year, Maggies, and now we are delighted to help support Open North Foundation.

“We understand how hard it is for everyone at the moment, including charities and small businesses. SMEs are the backbone of the economy, especially in the North East and account for a significant level of employment across our region. By supporting Open North Foundation in its fundraising efforts, we hope to help businesses facing challenges at the moment, to overcome those and turn them into opportunities. We are, therefore, very pleased to be hosting a charity golf day in aid of the Open North Foundation at Close House in September and look forward to some fine weather, good golf and generous giving.”

Richard Swart, chair of Open North Foundation, said: “The golf day at Close House is an event we look forward to and is a chance for many people to meet in a relaxed business setting for the first time, in person, in over a year. We thank Brewin Dolphin for playing host.

“We are very grateful for the company’s generous support, demonstrating its commitment to helping the North East economy get back on its feet. We are fortunate to have been able to help a number of individuals and SMEs who are in need of assistance and that is thanks to the strength of the business community that we have here in the region.

“I would urge those business who can, to get in touch and back our very important campaign.”
