Pranzo's Beginnings

Issue 70

Despite humble beginnings growing up in rural Tuscany, locally sourced ingredients created flavoursome meals on the family table, inspiring Pablo's ethos and passion for food.

His first professional experience of the hospitality business started in the beautiful location of Giglio Island and the high class food and service of Hotel Saraceno. After four seasons in the sun, sea and seclusion of the island, Pablo moved to England where the journey continued. Filled with the determination of one day owning his own deli, Pablo worked tirelessly in establishments on Newcastle Quayside, moving into sales of Italian food products, British game meats and ultimately fine wines – an Italian’s dream job, being paid to taste wine! Unfortunately, like for most of us, the pandemic hit hard and the dream job was no more but for Pablo it provided an opportunity to reflect, to rethink life and to get back to his roots – he focused all his energy into starting his own business. As an integral part of the community in Whitley Bay with his role as a volunteer coach for Marden Vollyball Club, Pablo wanted to give even more back to the community he saw as family by bringing a taste of his home to the North East. And so Pranzo began. Pranzo is all about real Italian food – the kind of family meal that welcomes you in at any time of the day or night. Providing pastas, pizzas and mouth-watering family recipes, customers can enjoy food from the dining-in or take-away menus in one of the select restaurants in Whitley Bay with outdoor seating, where the summer sun can be enjoyed while drinking your aperol spritz. Come and join the Pranzo family, live the dream with us!
