It’s no surprise, therefore that as Hotel Gotham approaches its first full year of operation in Newcastle, it has also been awarded five stars…the only hotel in the city to achieve that official recognition. Located within the original fire station on Pilgrim Street, Hotel Gotham occupies one of Newcastle’s landmark buildings. It retains its striking 1930s Gothic and ArtDeco architecture and remains very much in keeping with the heritage of the original building. It looks fabulous. Step inside and both the glamorous 1930s style and attention to detail immediately strike you. That’s before you even reach the reception desk. Put it this way, if you rate a hotel or restaurant on first impressions, you are going to be stunned. And they’re not finished yet. Building work is underway to convert the neighbouring police station…
