This year, the school celebrated the theme Reading for Pleasure, highlighting how books can inspire enjoyment well beyond the classroom. The week kicked off with the Prep School Librarians delighting the youngest pupils during the Pre Prep assembly by reading The Tiger Who Came to Tea. Judith Kerr’s much-loved story, featuring the unforgettable tiger with his extraordinary appetite, captivated children and set a joyful tone for the celebrations. Across the school, pupils joined in a Famous Five-themed treasure hunt, following clues inspired by Enid Blyton’s adventurous tales. One of the highlights was Tuesday’s special reading sessions, which evoked memories of the classic BBC programme Jackanory.
