At Cascade, we've always believed that investing in the next generation is one of the most important things we can do - not just as a business, but as part of the wider fintech community.
Apprenticeships sit at the heart of that belief, offering a genuine pathway for motivated individuals to build real skills in a real environment. So it’s with a great deal of pride that we celebrate Will Toward, who has recently completed his Level 3 Apprenticeship with us.
Will joined the team just over a year ago, and the impression he has made in that time has been quietly remarkable. From the outset, he brought an enthusiasm that went beyond simply getting up to speed. He wanted to understand how things worked, not just the tasks in front of him, but the broader picture: how the business operates, how teams collaborate, and where he could genuinely contribute.
That curiosity quickly became one of his most valued qualities. Rather than waiting to be guided through every step, Will actively sought opportunities to get involved, asking thoughtful questions and applying what he was learning in practical, meaningful ways. It’s the kind of initiative that can’t really be taught – it comes from someone who genuinely cares about doing good work.
What has also stood out is his approach to the people around him. Apprenticeships aren’t just about technical development; they’re about learning how to work well with others, how to adapt when things change, and how to keep going when things get challenging. Will has demonstrated all of this in abundance. Colleagues across the business have noticed his willingness to pitch in, his positive attitude, and the quiet confidence he has developed over the course of the year.
The fintech sector moves fast. New ideas, new tools, and new challenges arrive constantly, and the ability to learn on the go is more valuable than ever. What apprentices like Will bring to a team isn’t just fresh energy – it’s a perspective that isn’t yet shaped by habit. That willingness to ask “why?” and to look at problems with fresh eyes is something the whole team has benefitted from.
Completing a Level 3 Apprenticeship is a genuine achievement. It requires consistent effort, the ability to balance on-the-job learning with formal study, and the resilience to keep developing even when things get difficult. Will has done all of that, and more. His progress over the past year is something the whole team has watched with real pride.
As we mark this milestone, we’re not just celebrating the end of an apprenticeship – we’re celebrating the beginning of what is shaping up to be a strong and promising career. Will has built a solid foundation of skills, professional insight, and confidence that will serve him well in whatever comes next.
Congratulations, Will. It has been a genuine pleasure watching you grow, and the whole team looks forward to seeing what you do next.
