T3 Security are one of the North East's leading security firms. They provide their services to some of the region's biggest names in pubs, clubs, hotels and restaurants to department stores, shopping centres, hospitals, clinics, outdoor and indoor event venues, casinos and offices. You can also add sports grounds, building developments, transport hubs…the list is endless.
And you can imagine that juggling staff to cover all of these sites…many for 24 hours a day, 365 days a year…can be tricky. That’s why Peter Moore and Richard Townsend founders of T3 have brought in Mark Boyd to be their Head of Operations to help take them to the next level. Mark moved into the security industry 22 years ago after having a successful career in the Armed forces. It was while working for a major retailer and the Edwards Family as Head of loss and risk management, he decided to get in contact with Richard Townsend and Peter Moore, old friends of his to ask them to supply the Poundworld Group with security staff across Great Britain as he could see the growth T3 had made in the sector and was hugely impressed with the support they gave him in reducing the shrinkage within the stores.
“I’ve always had a passion for security,” said Mark. “It’s one of the reasons I joined the Army and it’s also the reason why I enjoy working in the security industry. I was fortunate enough to have friends in Peter and Richard with the same passions as myself… it’s something you notice about T3 and I have to say that it’s one of the main things that our clients pick up on and the main reason I joined the business. They realise that we really do care about the job were doing and that we want to provide the very best security and customer service. I also enjoy the responsibility that comes with the role of Head of Operations. As well as ensuring that we have the right staff in the right place at the right time, I also have the opportunity to speak to potential new clients and bring new business to T3 Security. I’m keen to develop our senior and area management team on our core values but also pay close attention to the wellbeing of our staff. We have guys who are out all night in every type of weather, some are working in very testing conditions, so we need to ensure they are well catered for. The geographical area we cover is also growing. Granted, we’re still largely based in the North East but we are extending into Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, across to Cumbria and very shortly up to The Borders…and I have to cover all of it. So, as you can see, apart from the operations side of my job, I’d guess you could say that things have developed somewhat since I arrived at the start of last year.”
T3 Security has been incredibly busy over the past 12 months since we last caught up with them here at Northern Insight. Nobody could have guessed what would happen when Covid-19 arrived in the UK and how long it would last. It’s meant that work T3 does with hospitals like the RVI, Queen Elizabeth and Freeman plus those in Darlington, Durham, Middlesbrough etc, has been stepped up as the amount of traffic into the hospitals has increased. T3 has been working closely with the NHS across all of the North East to help ensure that the vaccination centres are secure and well organised. “Our work with the NHS has been of critical importance and I must say it’s always a pleasure visiting these sites. We are hugely proud of the success of our security operation. However, we also know that once the lockdown eases that entertainment venues, hotels, bars and restaurants are going to be incredibly busy. We’re working very closely with some of the region’s top hospitality groups to get everything ready. The Apartment Group for example is one of our major clients, and we are currently supporting them with some fantastic new projects in Newcastle, Jesmond and Sunderland. Tommy Byron and Rob Clarkson have also got some exciting new projects ongoing within the City Centre with Blues Bar, Market Shaker and the Dog and Parrot. We love how our clients get us involved in the future plans for there venues right at the start as this allows us to build the team and be part of the overall goal and success. We’re making full use of technology and have recently unveiled a brand-new state of the art CCTV monitoring centre. It allows us to remotely monitor properties such as offices, hotels and building sites via a series of cameras. If we spot something we can quickly respond and send our patrols to secure the site. It’s meant that we no longer need to always have someone on site. This will save expense for our clients and allows us to deploy key staff elsewhere. Remote CCTV monitoring is something that a lot of potential clients are unware of but it is incredibly effective.” It also gives many clients another option giving them the 360 Degrees security option.
As you can see, T3 Security is setting new standards as a 21st Century security firm. Remote CCTV security is without doubt going to be a major factor in how security operates in the future. It’s extremely cost-effective for clients too. You’re in safe hands with T3 Security.
