Having more than doubled its head count from 30 employees to nearly 70 in the past year, award-winning Bloom Procurement Services, has signalled further expansion plans with a move to larger office space in Gateshead.
Originally based in Sunderland Software Centre, the company moved to Newcastle Quayside in 2017 and following rapid growth in the last year, has now relocated to impressive, new offices, close to the Hilton Hotel at New Eden House, Gateshead.
Along with an increase in headcount, turnover for 2018/19 exceeded £170 million and the company has set an ambitious turnover target of £250 million for 2019/20.
Bloom’s rapid growth was acknowledged earlier this year when it won the ‘Let’s Grow’ category at the 2019 Northumberland & Tyneside North East Business Awards. The company was also nominated for ‘North East Scale Up Business of the Year’ at the Federation of Small Business Awards 2019.

Established in 2012, Bloom specialises in bringing together a community of buyers and suppliers to help the public sector buy and manage professional services in an innovative way. The company provides a full end-to-end marketplace solution for the procurement, contract management and payment of all consultancy and professional services.
The move to New Eden House comes just as Bloom celebrated its recent appointment as the delivery partner to the new NEPRO³ professional services procurement solution, on behalf of the North East Procurement Organisation (NEPO). Set up to help the UK public sector manage professional services spend whilst achieving better outcomes and improving value for money, Bloom has been the exclusive operator of the NEPRO solution since its inception in 2012. NEPRO³ is the third iteration of the contract.
NEPRO³ is set to secure jobs in the region by offering an excellent growth platform for Bloom’s supplier community, whilst providing significant efficiency savings for public sector buyers – on average, public sector buyers using the NEPRO solution save between 11% and 19% against budget.
