County Durham-based, multi-award winning, building and roofing specialist, Hodgson Sayers, has announced a raft of new appointments.
Craig Shield joins as contracts manager, Alan Phelps, as assistant quantity surveyor, Andrew Stephenson as fabrication supervisor and Debbie Bertram as contract team administrator.
Headquartered in Stanley and with an office in Nottingham, Hodgson Sayers, which employs approximately 100 staff, was the first construction company in the North East – and only the second in the UK – to sign up to the National Living Wage, clear evidence of its commitment to its workforce.
Craig, from Longbenton, said: “Like most people in the trades, I have known of Hodgson Sayers for many years. My friend, contract manager, Stuart McKinnon, joined the company a year ago and I know executive chair, Billy Hodgson.
“I had been approached by Billy over the years, but felt now was the right time to join the company. I am very much enjoying getting to know the team as well as working on a number of roofing projects both regionally and across the UK.”
Operating nationally, Hodgson Sayers has an expanding portfolio of contracts that has included work on behalf of Nottingham City Homes, as part of a greener housing, energy saving programme and major roofing works and external building repairs to heritage sites such as Kendal Quaker Meeting House and Crown Street Library in Darlington, both of which are Grade II listed.
John Sayers, managing director at Hodgson Sayers, said: “A warm welcome to our new starters each of whom brings strong expertise in their respective fields.
“We have enjoyed a busy year, which has included increasing our footprint across the UK, as we continue to develop a workforce built around our own culture and values.”
