En:able Futures Announces North East Base

Issue 82

EN:Able Futures has further reinforced its commitment to delivering Flexi-Job apprenticeships across the North East, with the opening of an office at the Evolve Centre, Houghton-le-Spring

Established in Yorkshire, in 2013, EN:Able Futures, which specialises in the construction and built environment sector, became part of Efficiency North Holdings in 2018.

Flexi-Job Apprenticeships are designed to create benefits for employers in industries such as construction and civil engineering, where it is often difficult for companies to take on apprentices for the full time due to the nature of new build, repair and maintenance projects.

With its headquarters in Sheffield, the Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Service has had huge success across Yorkshire and the Humber and EN:Able Futures is looking to replicate this in the North East.

Julie Deeley, director of operations at EN:Able Futures, said: “We are delighted to announce that our North East base will be the Evolve Centre, Houghton-le-Spring. We chose this location because of its accessibility, enabling us to service both Tees Valley and the wider North East.

“We are also members of Constructing Excellence in the North East and the Evolve Centre is where it is based. Having been in the building a number of times for meetings, we really liked the friendly atmosphere.

“Our Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Service has had huge success across Yorkshire and the Humber and as a not-for-profit organisation, we are immensely proud that, over the last nine years, we have employed over 430 apprentices hosted by 113 organisations, supported young people to achieve their career aspirations, won many awards and built strong employer and client partnerships. We are looking forward to replicating this across the North East.”

Catriona Lingwood, chief executive at Constructing Excellence in the North East, said: “We are very pleased to welcome EN:Able Futures as new members and beyond to our network and the wider North East business community. We wish EN:Able Futures the best of luck as it brings its successful apprenticeship model into the region and we will continue to work alongside the team on its journey.”

Cllr Graeme Miller, leader of Sunderland City Council, said: “The Evolve Business Centre has acted as an incubator to many successful businesses over the last decade and I am so pleased that EN:Able Futures will be joining them. We are delighted to support EN:Able Futures as it brings high quality jobs and apprenticeships to Sunderland.”
