Digital Manufacturing Week kicked off at the end of September supporting 88 delegates across six events, including, a networking session, followed by five digital marketing workshops, supporting businesses operating in the Manufacturing sector, to develop their digital marketing journey.
The events gave businesses the opportunity of fully funded training enabling multiple members of staff to digitally upskill different departments within their business.
The specialised events began with a virtual networking event led by John Hildreth, Business Growth and Investments Manager at Advance Northumberland and guest speaker Ryan Maughan from AVID Technology. The event highlighted the importance of having a good communication strategy when it came to digital marketing and to not just focus on the selling but also engaging customers, the presentations sparked conversation from various manufacturing businesses across the region.
The subsequent workshops were focused on subjects including; Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Excel, LinkedIn, Email Marketing and Website Content and were attended by 40 individual businesses including various staff members from different departments from marketing to purchasing meaning multiple departments benefitted from the support. Alice Inglis from Tiger Lifting said “We were delighted to have the opportunity to take part in the recent Business Northumberland Digital Manufacturing Week events.
“All of our IT users took part in at least one course, with several colleagues taking part in two, three or even four of the events! The virtual delivery was appropriate and effective and the trainers knowledgeable and enthusiastic. “We all learnt some new skills, in both Office 365 and to help improve our online profile. We’ll be booking onto more of the online events and courses that Business Northumberland offers”.
Digital Manufacturing week was delivered by Business Northumberland, a service that provides support to small and medium enterprises across the North East who are looking to sustain and grow their business online. The support programme is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Advance Northumberland, there is no cost to eligible businesses when accessing the support.
