Constructing Excellence North East is to host the All In Conference on April 1, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Newcastle.
The event will bring together professionals from across the construction sector to explore the benefits of embracing Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) as key drivers for business growth, innovation and competitiveness.
The construction industry is a vital part of the North East’s economy and with ongoing challenges such as skills shortages and increasing demand for sustainable solutions, the sector is facing complex pressures. The conference will address the strategic importance of EDI in responding effectively to these challenges and how creating diverse and inclusive environments can help businesses to unlock new opportunities, enhance employee engagement and improve overall business performance.
The All In Conference, sponsored by RED Engineering and Square One Law, will feature a line-up of expert speakers leading the charge in advancing EDI practices.
Confirmed speakers include:
· Tessa Hollingworth, Randstad
· Gill Hunter, Square One Law
· Carlos Munez, Willmott Dixon
· Alice Ambrose-Thurman, Faltec Europe Ltd
A panel discussion will also take place during the event, along with a facilitated table discussion.
Catriona Lingwood, chief executive, Constructing Excellence North East, said: “The All In Conference is a key event for businesses committed to developing a more inclusive workforce, particularly in a sector that plays such a significant role in regional economic growth. By prioritising EDI, construction firms can attract and retain a more diverse range of talent, which is vital to sustaining long-term success and competitiveness in the evolving market.
“Attendees will gain insights into how fostering inclusive workplaces leads to improved innovation, stronger team collaboration and a more adaptable workforce. These outcomes are particularly critical as the sector faces talent shortages, making it more important than ever for organisations to create environments where individuals from all backgrounds feel welcomed and valued.
“I would like to thank our sponsors RED Engineering and Square One Law. Thompsons of Prudhoe and Esh Construction are also supporting the event for which we are very grateful.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear directly from industry leaders on the role EDI plays in transforming businesses in the construction sector across the UK. The event will highlight successful case studies and share actionable best practices for integrating EDI into day-to-day operations.
Participants will also gain practical knowledge on how to develop and implement inclusive policies that strengthen their organisation’s culture and enhance their competitive edge in the North East construction market. Additionally, the day will provide an excellent opportunity for networking with senior leaders and other professionals from the regional construction sector, fostering potential partnerships and collaborations to drive forward EDI initiatives across the industry.
