Charlotte Is Crowned North East Built Environment Future Leader

Issue 90

Charlotte Robson was crowned North East Future Leader at the Generation4Change (G4C) Awards 2023.

The awards are held in association with Constructing Excellence in the North East and Northern Counties Builders Federation (NCBF) was the headline sponsor.

G4C aims to harness the young professional voice, driving continuous improvement in the UK built environment industry and the awards evening was an opportunity to shine the spotlight on the region’s talent pool.

Charlotte Robson, said: “I am thrilled to be the North East region’s Future Leader winner. This really is a huge coup and I must say a big thank you to my employer Turner & Townsend who nominated me for the award and who continue to support me with my career progression.

“I am passionate about promoting the sector, supporting new professionals into the industry and to sharing my knowledge. I have greatly benefited from the experience of my colleagues and peers and really enjoy being part of wider industry initiatives such as the regional branch of NAWIC.”

Catriona Lingwood, chief executive at Constructing Excellence in the North East, said: “A huge well done to all of our winners, runners up and nominees. The G4C Awards are held in association with Constructing Excellence in the North East but it is our regional co-chairs and committee members who we must thank not just for an outstanding night but for all they do to promote young professionals throughout the year.

“We had a record number of entries this year which made it very difficult for the judges. At a time when the industry is facing a skills gap, the awards provide a fantastic opportunity to showcase career routes on offer and to see hard work being recognised.

“The night also highlights the valuable route to employment, as demonstrated by the technical and trade apprentice winners. We also applauded team members who go the extra mile to mentor people coming into the industry and shone the spotlight on organisations who are committed to training and developing the next generation of workers.

“We would like to thank all of our sponsors on the night and headline sponsor, Northern Counties Builders Federation. A very big well done must also go to Charlotte Robson who we will be supporting when she travels to the capital later this year to represent the region at the national finals.”
