The shortlist for the Constructing Excellence North East Awards 2024 has been announced.
The ceremony takes place on Friday 14th June 2024 at the Grand Hotel Gosforth Park. The winners will then go on to the national final in autumn taking place in London.

“Indeed, all categories are packed with exceptional companies doing brilliant work that not only highlights the top-quality people we have operating in the sector in the North East but, importantly, the huge role they all play in showcasing our industry and the wider built environment as a progressive, modern and dynamic environment in which to build a wonderful career.

Teesside University has two projects in the Building Project of the Year category with the BIOS and the Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre. Also nominated are Bank House, Durham Investigative Hub, Lilidorei and Morpeth Sports and Leisure Centre.
The BIOS is a £36.9m facility, offering leading-edge laboratories for sciences and clinical subjects including anatomy, pharmacy, microbiology and chemistry.
Bank House, is a 14-storey building on the edge of a conservation area and is the catalyst for redevelopment of Newcastle’s Pilgrim Street.
The Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre supports the ongoing drive for clean energy and positions Teesside firmly at the heart of the UK’s green industrial revolution and national centre of excellence for a low carbon economy.
Durham Investigative Hub, is a forensic medical facility. A stand-out project, showcasing what can be achieved through true collaboration and teamwork.
Lilidorei is a play village, transcending conventional playground concepts, immersing visitors in a realm where fantasy and reality intertwine seamlessly.
Morpeth Sports and Leisure facility seamlessly integrates sport, leisure, and community amenities, enriching the heart of Morpeth and offering a truly inclusive space for all.

People & Culture, Integration and Collaborative Working, Delivering Value, Regeneration and Retrofit, Innovation, Climate Action, ESG, SME, Residential Project of the Year, Client of the Year, Infrastructure Project of the Year and Building Project of the Year. Also recognised on the evening is the Outstanding Achievement award, special award for someone who the region wishes to acknowledge for their incredible contribution in the sector.
