Falcon Fox Developments has delivered consultancy services for Sunderland City Council, acting as CDM Principal Contractor for the installation of a multi-million pound audio-visual at Culture House, Sunderland.
Located in the heart of the city, Culture House, Sunderland is the National Centre for Creative Smart Cities and home to the City Library. It opened to the public on 12 September.
It includes cutting-edge immersive spaces, large digital screens, a green screen studio and podcasting facilities and will be home to a new, state-of-the-art city library.
Falcon Fox Developments worked closely with immersive experience company, Seeper, to install LED screens and feature lighting within the atrium. Work also included the fit out of the media and podcasting rooms.
Ritchie Wharton, Director at Falcon Fox Developments, said: “It was a fascinating experience working alongside Seeper, which is recognised as a global leader in immersive technologies. While Culture House provides a range of amazing experiences, all requiring the highest levels of technical support, there can be no doubt the quality of the audio visual is crucial. We were, therefore, honoured to act as principal contractor for the installation of the system.”
Richard Schofield, Technical & Operations Manager at Sunderland City Council, said: Acting as the Council’s CDM Principal Contractor, Falcon Fox Developments played a key role in delivering the AV installations at Culture House, including the digital LED walls within its main feature Living Room, podcast studios, media studio, interactive bookcases, meeting rooms, and immersive gallery. Through effective coordination with other fit out works, proactive management, and a strong commitment to health and safety, they helped ensure these facilities were delivered successfully and opened to the public on programme.
Falcon Fox is making its mark on Wearside having been appointed as principal contractor for two major residential regeneration projects, Nile+Villiers and Vaux Housing. Nile+Villiers is a key development scheme within Sunniside which includes 75 homes and commercial spaces along High Street West.
The Vaux housing development is a new residential neighbourhood within Riverside Sunderland delivering 93 high-quality homes as part of the wider regeneration of the former Vaux brewery site.
