Tynestack...the recruitment agency that does things differently
Let’s face facts here. Some recruitment agencies don’t have a very good reputation. They become notorious for having a scattergun approach whereby they send a client dozens of potential candidates, even though the vast majority aren’t appropriate. But hey, one of them might get lucky. It’s called ‘spray and pray,’ which stands for volume over judgement.
This isn’t fair on the client and it’s certainly not fair on the candidates.
Having spent years working in recruitment, Jack Salkeld has seen from the inside how these agencies operate. He wanted to do things differently and have the freedom to build a consultancy centred around quality, transparency and long-term partnerships rather than volume-based recruitment and short-term targets.”
Towards the end of last year, he took the plunge and established Tynestack Recruitment.
“Everything finally clicked into place on 1st March of this year, and I’m delighted to say that I’m really busy,” said Jack. “Around 20 of my previous clients immediately moved to Tynestack, which gave me huge confidence that the relationship-first approach was something businesses genuinely valued. Many of those clients continue to trust me with key hires across technology, finance and commercial functions. They plainly like the way I operate.
“I don’t encourage clients to have something which they don’t need. Some clients might need me for three days a week, others may need me once a month. Some need a full day working with them, others may need just a couple of hours.
“It’s all about trust and building relationships. I’m not going to grow Tynestack just for the sake of growing it…everything needs to be done properly. Successful recruitment is based on genuine understanding and lasting relationships rather than simply filling vacancies quickly. I value the way I work, and I value clients who want to work in a similar fashion. I like to speak directly to clients…I’m not keen on emails because they’re too impersonal…so I prefer to meet them or, at the very least, have a detailed phone call so that we can fully understand each other, build a partnership and find out what their objectives are.”
The same principles lead to Jack coming up with the name, Tynestack.
In a nutshell, Jack is from Newcastle…we have a lot of fantastic bridges across the River Tyne which connect communities. So, following the same idea, Jack builds bridges with clients and candidates; he connects with them.
Stack is a tower of strength and, as Jack works extensively in technology recruitment, a tech stack refers to the amount of technology which goes into computer applications or websites.
As well as technology, which other areas does Jack and his Tynestack business specialise in?
“It’s mainly professional and technical recruitment, focussing on Information Technology, Finance and broader white-collar commercial positions. Our current vacancies are for software developers, SQL developers, IT support engineers and finance-related opportunities. We’ve previously found candidates to fill positions including .NET development, cloud technologies, data platforms, Microsoft 365 and infrastructure support.”
Tynestack recruitment is a boutique specialist consultancy rather than a large-scale agency. If you contact Tynestack you’ll be dealt with by Jack Salkeld. He’s happy to give advice to clients and candidates, help with CVs and point candidates in the right direction. He’ll speak to businesses and suggest possible recruitment solutions. Whether a business is making a critical hire, building a team or simply looking for market advice, Tynestack aims to provide honest guidance, specialist expertise and a genuine partnership throughout the recruitment process.
In other words, yes, shock, it’s true. Jack Salkeld and Tynestack care about recruitment. It’s not about numbers; it’s about doing the right thing…and they can do the right thing for you.
