As one of my all-time favourite musicals, I was delighted to return to the Theatre Royal,Newcastle to see the UK tour of Grease, following its hugely successful run in London’s West End.
Inspired by the iconic film adaptation starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, Grease follows the story of bad boy Danny and girl-next-door Sandy, as they navigate their way through the trials and tribulations of senior year at Rydell High School.
Showcasing outstanding vocals, with a stand-out performance from Hope Dawe as Sandy, the musical stage show features all the famous hits from the film such as ‘Summer Nights, ‘Greased Lightnin’’ and ‘You’re The One That I Want’. With exceptional choreography from show business legend Dame Arlene Phillips, the fantastic show captured the charm and joy of the story we have all grown up with.
