Colleagues Raise £5,000 As They Put Their Best Foot Forward

Issue 124

Colleagues at Castle raised just over £5,000 for the Red Sky Foundation following a 27 mile walk for the charity.

Starting at Druridge Bay and walking along the beautiful North East Coast line to Tynemouth, a Castle team consisting of procurement director, Ben Fawcett, commercial director, Andrew Heron, senior design lead/architect, Sarah Sabin, technical director, Simon Groom, finance assistant, Helen Maxwell, senior mechanical estimator, Martin Smith, buyer, Shauna Robertson, procurement assistant, Laura Cottrell, operations director, Shaun Powell and apprentice joiner, Connor Powell, individually clocked up circa 80,000 steps.

The money raised will help the Red Sky Foundation in its mission to raise vital funds for babies, children and adults, who are born with or develop heart conditions and are in need of cardiac care, by providing lifelong support to them and their families.

Ben Fawcett, procurement director, said: “As a company we are a supporter of the Red Sky Foundation and the incredible work that it is doing to improve the lives of people needing cardiac care.

“The 27 miles was tough but we had a great time. A big thanks to everyone who donated and to our managing director, Andrew Dawson and his daughter, Harriett, who also took part in the walk and acted as our support team along the way.”

Sergio Petrucci, founder, Red Sky Foundation, said: “Our partnership with Castle is growing from strength-to-strength and this recent fundraising challenge has raised a phenomenal amount of vital funds to enable us to provide extra support services for many families living with heart disease here in the North East. The money will reach so many babies, children and adults in their time of need.”
