Issue 124

Sintons has announced a significant boost to its nationally-recognised real estate practice with the appointment of Claire Archer as a Partner

Claire joins the firm with an exceptional track record in all aspects of commercial real estate. She brings particular expertise in large-scale development projects and regularly advises PLC house builders on site acquisitions and navigating complex title matters. Her experience also extends to acting for institutional landlords in the acquisition, disposal, and development of major mixed commercial schemes.

Throughout her career, Claire has led some of the sector’s most high-profile transactions. Notable highlights include:

Specialist Healthcare: Leading the £200m acquisition of a specialist care property portfolio from CareTech for Civitas Investment Management.

Historic Redevelopment: Advising the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan on the transformation and multi-letting of the Grade II listed 78 St James’s Street in London.

Public Sector & Regeneration: Negotiating the sale and leaseback for a £100m city centre redevelopment on behalf of a local council, creating 120,000 sq ft of Grade A office space.

Retail & Leisure: Acting for Lendlease and Invesco Real Estate on the £60m extension of the Queensgate Centre in Peterborough, securing anchor tenancies with John Lewis, River Island, and Five Guys.

Alok Loomba, Partner and Head of Real Estate at Sintons, commented: “We are thrilled to welcome Claire to the partnership. Her reputation for handling intricate, high-value development work precedes her, and her arrival marks a key milestone in our growth strategy. Claire’s ability to manage complex due diligence and multi-disciplinary teams makes her a formidable asset to our clients and a perfect fit for our expanding real estate offering.”

Claire Archer, Partner at Sintons, added: “I am delighted to join Sintons at such an exciting time for the firm. Sintons has a longstanding reputation for excellence and a deeply client focused culture. I look forward to working alongside Alok and the wider team to deliver strategic advice on the ambitious development and regeneration projects that are currently shaping our landscape.”

Claire’s appointment reinforces Sintons’ position as a leader in the real estate sector, capable of managing the most sophisticated legal challenges in construction, planning, and property litigation.
