New Empowering Women’s Finance Platform Launches In Teesside

Issue 123

Driven females filled the Porsche Teesside showroom in Stockton for the VIP launch of Her Invest – a new empowering service to encourage women to be more financially savvy and secure.

Christine Tarran, owner of Tarran & Co, was driven to launch Her Invest for women to achieve financial independence at all ages and stages of their lives.

“Her Invest has been created by women for women,” explained Christine, who has almost 30 years’ of experience as an independent financial adviser (IFA).

“I know what it is like being a professional woman juggling all of life’s priorities such as managing a business, running a home, and being responsible for your children.

“Taking the time to properly understand and plan your finances isn’t easy, and many women don’t know where to start. That’s where we come in. We provide bespoke holistic financial advice in a space where women can feel comfortable to talk about the things that are most important to them now and in the future. This is a brand we want to really resonate with women.”

The launch event was held at the Porsche Teesside Centre at Preston Farm Industrial Estate on Thursday, 7th May. The event included an intimate In Conversation With… style interview with Christine Tarran and Sarah Dale, journalist and director of communications consultancy SASS media; luxury pop-up stalls; and the opportunity for guests to test drive one of five Porsches.

“The difference between men and women when it comes to finance is stark,” added Christine.

“British women retire with a pension around 37% lower than men’s and only 32% of women are confident that they are saving enough for retirement (compared to 48% of men). With a divorce rate of 42% and with women typically covered for life insurance for up to 20% less than men, women need to be independently financially secure. In contrast, women now hold 60% of UK wealth (£3.2tn), but we have found that there are several barriers to women investing their money: time, confidence and knowing where to go for advice.

“We want Her Invest to empower women to take charge of their own futures. It is never too early to start saving 15% of your income. Start with pocket money – teach your children how to divide their money into spending, short-term saving and long-term saving. This is advice I have ensured that my own daughters follow – and some of it must have stuck as they have followed me into the industry!”

Ross Jameson, centre principal of Porsche Teesside Centre Teesside, said: “Her Invest is a great fit and aligns really well with Porsche as a high-end luxury brand. In recent years, Porsche has seen a real shift in its customer demographic. One of the fastest growing customer demographics is what Porsche calls The Driven Female! Driven Females are ambitious, independent females who work hard to achieve their goals – and Christine, a Porsche owner herself, is the ultimate example of a Driven Female.”

Max Freer, creator of Female Founder UK, has been working with Christine to support her vision for Her Invest and bring to life the brand identity of Her Invest with VIA Creative.

Pop-up stalls included Beth Wilson Embroidery, Surfacephilia and Oona Art Studio.
