LANE, a Wallsend?based charity supporting young adults with mental and physical disabilities, proudly celebrated the opening of their new premises last month. The event drew an impressive turnout of more than 200 attendees, including family members, friends, supporters, local dignitaries, and community representatives.
The opening ceremony was made extra special by the attendance of North East singer?songwriter Andrew Cushin, who officially cut the ribbon and welcomed guests into the new space.
The new premises will enable LANE to continue and expand their vital work with young adults of varying abilities. Through tailored programmes focused on independence, employability, and social development, LANE provides meaningful learning experiences that empower individuals to build confidence and work towards their personal goals.
Danny Wilson, CEO at LANE said the celebration marked an exciting new chapter for the charity: “This new space allows us to offer even more opportunities for the incredible young adults we work with. Everything we do is centred around their ambitions, strengths, and wellbeing. Seeing so many families and supporters come together today shows just how valued this work is in our community.”
Guests were given guided tours of the facility and learned about the programmes LANE delivers, which include life?skills training, community engagement activities, creative workshops, and pathways to employment.
Danny and all the team at LANE expressed gratitude to everyone who attended and helped make the opening a memorable occasion, adding that the building will serve as a vibrant and inclusive hub for years to come.
