Cramlington-based, principal building contractor, Compass Developments, has underpinned its commitment to developing its workforce of the future with the appointment of Adam Charlton as assistant quantity surveyor.
Adam, 23, from Seaton Delaval, joined the company as a technical apprentice four years ago, benefiting from hands-on industry experience, whilst studying for his degree in Quantity Surveying at Northumbria University.
On completion of his degree, Adam has now joined the company in a full-time role working alongside senior quantity surveyors, Richard Harm and Mark Handyside. He is currently assisting on live projects including Vaux South in Sunderland city centre, where Compass Developments has been appointed by igloo Regeneration, to deliver 34 homes, within the Sunderland Riverside Masterplan.
Based in Cramlington, the company delivers construction and development projects across commercial, industrial and residential sectors, specialising in schemes up to the £10 million mark. It provides full lifecycle support, including feasibility assessments, design management, project planning and construction delivery. Its growth in recent years has been fuelled by repeat business, long-term client partnerships and a reputation for transparent communication, practical problem-solving and consistent project outcomes.
