North Shields-based, Carney Consultancy, continues on its growth trajectory with a raft of new clients bolstered by a recent recruitment drive.
In the last two years, the company, led by managing director, Angela Carney and directors, Martin Crammond and David Wadds, has seen turnover surge by 64% following a 22% increase in retained clients.
Since January, the company has won clients including EDD building Services, KM Electrical Services, Prime Groundworks and Civils, Tandem Construction, DTC Services and Gillespie who will benefit from ongoing health and safety consultancy support.
In particular, there has been a surge of new business gains in the North West with clients such as Quince Homes, Wannop Developments, Cubby Construction and most recently, William Pye, based in Preston.
The company has also been appointed by Newcastle based, DCS Multiserve, to develop a single integrated management system, combining multiple management standards, such as quality management, IS0 9001, environmental management, ISO 1401 and helping it achieve occupational health and safety ISO 45001 accreditation.
The new system will create a single, cohesive process, incorporating all necessary processes and documentation.
Established in 2002, Carney Consultancy specialises in construction and engineering, providing health and safety consultancy and training. Team members come from a main contracting and subcontracting background and have worked, as consultants, with some of the North East’s main companies. The firm works on an on-going basis with a variety of small to medium sized builders, specialist sub-contractors and management companies.
Managing director, Angela Carney, said: “We continue on a steady growth trajectory, which has been carefully managed by the recruitment of key individuals in recent months, who will support our growth and benefit clients, as well as a move to new, larger headquarters, in North Tyneside.
“New clients have been forged via referrals from existing clients, based on our consistently high- performance record and always delivering what we say we are going to do.
“As our client base rapidly expands, we continue to develop our team through our inhouse training programme, strengthening skillsets and identifying areas of the business they feel better suited to.
“As we move through 2025, we have a strong forward order book and a five-year growth plan in place to increase our retained customer base, expand further into Yorkshire and the North West and grow our turnover by 75%.”
Frank Phillipson, managing director at Quince Homes, said: “We recently appointed Carney Consultancy to support our growing need for health, safety and environmental services. It has a very strong reputation and a growing presence across the North West.
“The company is professional and diligent and offers advice and support to our growing portfolio of projects.”
