Newcastle-based leading law firm Muckle LLP continues to strengthen its team with the appointment of three newlyqualified solicitors following the completion of their training contracts.
Daniel Montana, Craig Harvey and Carla Boaks joined the firm as trainees in 2021 and have all since qualified in the last six months.
Carla, who studied law at Durham University and then worked as a paralegal alongside studying the Legal Practice Course (LPC), will take up a seat in the firm’s sports, education and charities team.
Prior to joining Muckle, Craig studied MLaw at Northumbria University before joining a local law firm, where he put his skills into practice working as a paralegal in employment law.
As part of Muckle’s employment team, he will continue to offer advice to employers on a variety of employment law matters and support with business immigration issues.
Daniel, who studied law & a one-year Legal Practice Course (LPC) at Northumbria University, has qualified into Muckle’s commercial team and will support clients in contract, procurement, intellectual property and tech.
The solicitor training programme provides trainees with an opportunity to learn and develop skills across a wide range of legal practice areas.
Each trainee completes a comprehensive twoyear training programme, working alongside Muckle lawyers, providing them with the knowledge, skills and experience they need to ensure the best start to their career in law.
During the programme, trainees can expect to gain experience in legal specialisms, including corporate and M&A; real estate; litigation and media and banking and finance.
Many of Muckle’s current partners and lawyers qualified through its training contract programme.
Jason Wainwright, Muckle LLP managing partner, said: “As a top-ranked firm, we are constantly looking for new talent to help us continue to deliver fantastic work to our clients. I am delighted to retain Daniel, Carla and Craig – all excellent individuals who have really hit the ground running since qualifying into their preferred legal teams. They are highly skilled, hardworking and down-to-earth people who really care about the North East, and I’m confident they have incredibly promising careers ahead of them.
“We are a people business, so hiring and particularly developing the right kind of employees who believe in our values and commitment to client service couldn’t be more important.
“Investment in our people is a huge focus for our business, and I hope all our new solicitors will enjoy successful careers at Muckle for many years to come. Retaining fantastic people is always great news for our region.”
